2025 Grants Funded

  • Southeast Seniors

    • Purchased supplies and services necessary for older adults to remain safely in their homes with an enhanced quality of life.

  • Luxton Learners (ESNS)

    • Support to serve 30 K-5 students, and their families, and an additional 8 teens funded by Step Up and ESNS internships.

  • Prospect Park Community Gardens

    • Replaced the infrastructure pieces to prevent system failures leading to significant water loss and increased costs. Also deterrents to help protect gardeners work.

  • Tower Hill Committee (PPA)

    • Recruited, trained and supported volunteers to remove buckthorn including tools, signs, and staff time

  • Pratt PTO

    • Supported the PTO to offer additional support for enrichment activities, including field trips and educational experiences at school.

  • Fireweed Community Woodshop

    • Supported sliding scale registrations.

  • Textile Center

    • Sponsored craft nights with scholarships for Prospect Park residents

  • Surly Gives A Damn

    • Supported the creation & installation of a sign and the purchase of straw bales for their community garden

  • Prospect Park United Methodist Church

    • Supported their monthly community meal in partnership with Loaves & Fishes

  • Glendale Food Shelf

    • Supported the purchase of high demand items like bananas, greens & tomatoes

  • Community Driven

    • Helped enact a summer campaign in PP to decrease food waste at local businesses, increase surplus food for the Glendale food shelf and create a new job for PP resident.

2023 Grants Funded

  • Southeast Seniors

    • Provided nutritious and fresh food, groceries and (i.e., paper products and hygiene items) and nutritional supplements for low-income adults over the age of 65 and their caregivers living in Southeast Minneapolis

  • Rattlebox Music - Harris Bernstein

    • Hired guest artists for the 2023-24 concert season to present two chamber music concerts.

  • Senior Photos - Kyra Nygard

    • The Senior Photo Project provided high school seniors with a photo session for senior photos.

  • Signature Arts Building Angie Brain

    • Improved the signage of the Signature Arts Building (formerly Signature Café) by renovating the awning on Warwick St SE and added a pottery wheel to the arts programming.

  • Luxton Learners - Jean Emmons

    • Provided experiential learning experiences for our students such aspartnership field trips with Three Rivers Parks to offer hands on environmental learning and experiences, a trip to the Minneapolis Farmers Market, visit a community farm and purchase plants for our community garden.

  • Rename Pratt playground - Jerry Stein

    • Supported a celebratory event for the naming of the Pratt playground as the Jackson Family Playground. The celebration will include both an assembly for the students, and an after school ceremony with speakers including members of the Jackson family.

    • Coordinated Walk With Ease training and other safety focused sessions for clients with Arthritis residing in Prospect Park and nearby neighborhoods.

  • Kyra Nygard - photos

    • Third year to provide senior photo sessions at no cost for students who are unable to afford senior photos.

  • Luxton Learners

    • Provided experiential learning experiences for our students

  • Jackson Family Project (PPA)

    • Purchased and set a plaque at 17 Melbourne Ave.SE honoring the Simpson family, the second black family in Prospect Park, who experienced protests in 1909.

  • Aeon

    • Improved the landscape in front of and on the side of our property, The Louis.

  • Environment Committee (PPA)

    • Planted a garden in front of the University Avenue Post Office.

  • Pratt PTO

    • Provided additional support for enrichment activities, including field trips and educational experiences at school.
